The Kingdom of the Golden Dragon
... by Isabel Allende.
Alexander Gold and Nadia Santos continue to travel with Kate Gold, Alexander´s grandmother. They travel together to the Kingdom of the Golden Dragon, because Kate, a magazine writer, has been commissioned to write an article about the Kingdom. Nadia is kidnapped and Alex goes to rescue her... they end up in a quest to save the king and the national treasure, the Golden Dragon from crooks.
I loved this book. Plain and simple. Love it. It, like the first book (City of the beasts) is a little hard to get into... but once you do, you become more and more involved... not a book you should read if you have little time to do it in.
It´s brilliantly written, with plenty of surprises... new and very lovable characters... a lovestory vowen into the plot... and an ending which was supposed to be a huge surprise but I saw coming... not that it spoiled the story one little bit.
Next on my list to read is Allende´s memoir, "My invented country".
